Killed in the square, from prosecutor new advice on weapon former councilor

(ANSA) – PAVIA, 25 MAY – Another ballistic consultancy will be needed to clarify the doubts that still remain ten months after the shot. The Pavia Public Prosecutor’s Office, in fact, has ordered new investigations on the gun contested by the former councilor Massimo Adriatici and from which the bullet exploded that killed the 39-year-old Youns El Boussettaoui on the evening of 20 July last year.

The investigators intend to investigate the characteristics of the weapon, in particular the way in which Adriatici carried it that evening in July (if with the shot in the barrel and the hammer lowered) and of the box of bullets from which the one used comes. Bullets of the ‘hollow point’ type, that is, with a hole in the ogive with an expansive effect.

However, not all of them expanded during the test shoot, just like the one that hit Youns El Boussettaoui, who remained intact. Adriatici is under investigation on charges of culpable excess of self-defense, while the lawyers of El Boussettaoui lean towards voluntary murder. The prosecutor Roberto Valli had asked for an extension of the investigation in February. A request for trial by the prosecutor and a preliminary hearing by the end of the year is conceivable.

The ballistics report filed last autumn, of over 300 pages, has not resolved all the questions on the dynamics of the immigrant’s death .. (ANSA).
