(ANSA) – TURIN, MAY 26 – Tragedy this morning in a house in Nole, in the Turin area. A 44-year-old former policeman, who lived with his mother, shot the woman and then committed suicide. The investigations of the carabinieri of the company of Venaria Reale are in progress. The man died instantly. Her mother, shot in the forehead, was rushed to hospital in critical condition. The reasons for the gesture are not known at the moment.
To give the alarm this morning was a friend of her mother, who went to look for her at home. According to the first investigations of the carabinieri, however, it is not excluded that the man fired yesterday. In fact, a neighbor said she heard explosions, similar to gunshots, around lunchtime yesterday.
The woman and her son were alone in the house: the father of the suicide, 87, is in hospital because in recent days he fell and broke some ribs. 118 transported the 72-year-old woman by helicopter to the Molinette hospital in Turin.
She was hospitalized on a reserved prognosis in intensive care, where she is followed by neurosurgeons and maxillofacial surgeons for the severe trauma suffered. (HANDLE).
