Etna: effusive mouth in the upper part of the Bove Valley

(ANSA) – CATANIA, 29 MAY – An effusive mouth opened this morning in the upper part of the desert Valle del Bove of Etna. The altitude of the lava emission point is about 2,800 meters above the sea level. This is what emerges from the observations of the experts of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Etna Observatory, in Catania.
The average amplitude of the tremor, after a rapid decrease observed yesterday afternoon, oscillates on medium-high values. The localization of the springs is in the area of the South-East crater at a depth of about 3,000 meters. The infrasonic activity is low and localized in the area of the Bocca Nuova crater.
The signals of soil deformations recorded on the permanent Gnss and clinometric monitoring networks in the last hours do not show significant changes. (HANDLE).
