Climber takes selfie with Madonnina on the roof of Milan Cathedral

(ANSA) – MILAN, MAY 31 – A 33-year-old Polish climber was denounced in Milan for having climbed the spire of the Duomo reaching the statue of the Virgin, the ‘Madonnina’, one of the symbols of the Lombard capital. Once the man arrived, he shot a video and took selfies. Then, found out, he got out.
It happened yesterday at 9.30 pm, when a passer-by, in Piazza del Duomo, warned the police that he had seen something moving on the spiers. The agents alerted the cathedral security and awaited his descent on the roof of the cathedral. The man, on his cell phone, had photos and videos but did not explain his gesture.
A friend, a 32-year-old Irishman, was waiting for him at the base of the scaffolding on the northern arcades side, from where he climbed up. (HANDLE).
