(ANSA) – LAMEZIA TERME, 04 JUN – The financiers of the Ready Employment Company of Lamezia Terme, at the disposal of the Provincial Command of Catanzaro, have controlled over 70 commercial activities in recent months to verify the regular possession and sale of products with registered trademarks, as well as compliance with the legislation on the Consumer Code. At the end of the monitoring, seizures of obviously counterfeit toys and various accessories were carried out against some retailers. Subsequently, the “fake” chain was reconstructed and the wholesale distributors were identified.

At the end of the checks, 13,036 items bearing counterfeit brands were seized with excellent reproductions – mainly toys bearing famous brands of well-known successful television series, including “Squid Game”, as well as accessories of the latest creation of Disney and Marvel characters – and 1,606 items of various kinds, including electrical and IT material, without the minimum safety certifications and indications for the consumer. The toys, in addition to bearing fake brands, reports the Finance Police, lacked information on the characteristics, dimensions and components of the parts present, as well as information relating to the age group.

Finally, thanks to the collaboration of the Institute on membrane technology (National Research Council-ITM) of Cosenza, which carries out specific filtration tests, 3,665 Ffp2 masks for children were seized that did not comply with the parameters set by the European regulations governing the specific sector. . The retail sale of the seized items would have yielded illicit proceeds of over 70,000 euros.

A total of 15 people have been reported in a state of freedom to the judicial authority for introducing into the State and trading products with false signs and 2 subjects reported to the Chamber of Commerce for the adoption of the measures of competence in the hands of distributors, who risk an administrative fine of up to 25,000 euros.
