(ANSA) – PAVIA, 06 JUN – The 85-year-old elderly man from Gambolò (Pavia) was arrested yesterday who killed his caregiver’s son with two shots. The pensioner, at the end of a long interrogation, was transferred to the Torre del Gallo prison in Pavia.
Giovanni Vezzali is under investigation for the crime of Thomas Achille Mastrandrea, 43, resident in Nicorvo (Pavia). In a note signed by Fabio Napoleone, Pavia’s prosecutor, it is underlined that the elderly man’s arrest took place at 4.50 this morning. “The decree – reads the press release – was issued by the public prosecutor following the statements made by the suspect during the interrogation held during the night in the presence of the defender”.
The Prosecutor also specified that the man accused of murder “is not in a wheelchair and has no walking problems”, unlike the news that emerged yesterday evening. “Investigations are underway – concludes the note from the prosecutor Napoleon – aimed at reconstructing the motive for the crime and the exact dynamics of the same”.
Last night the rumor had spread that the 85-year-old would have resented after the child of the caregiver had “scolded” him for some too much attention that the old man would have reserved for his mother. Details that will naturally have to find confirmation in the investigations conducted by the investigators. (HANDLE).
