1.3 million worth of assets from drug trafficker seized by GDF

(ANSA) – CATANZARO, JUN 09 – Assets worth 1.3 million euros were seized by the Finance Police of the Provincial Commands of Catanzaro and Bologna, with the coordination of the District Prosecutor of the Calabrian capital, from an original international drug trafficker of the Vibonese who has long lived in Emilia Romagna.

The measure was ordered by the Court of Catanzaro.

The drug trafficker, involved in various criminal proceedings for the import into Italy of large loads of drugs from South America hidden in loads of cover goods such as plastic pipes inserted in marble blocks, plastic false ceilings, is currently in prison where he will have to serve a sentence valid until 3 October 2045.

The seizure arises not only from an assessment of the criminal profile of the interested party, fully included in the category of subjects characterized by social danger, also from economic and patrimonial investigations carried out by the men of the Gg.ico of the Economic-Financial Police Units of Catanzaro and Bologna with the coordination of the Public Prosecutor of Catanzaro. From the analyzes carried out, it was possible to ascertain a clear disproportion between the value of the assets accumulated over time and the legitimate sources of income attributable to him.

The seals were affixed by the financiers to a plot of land in the province of Vibo Valentia and two prestigious buildings in the province of Bologna.

In 2014, the subject had been the recipient of a similar confiscation order issued by the judicial authority of Bologna which was then canceled by the Supreme Court which, accepting the grievances of the interested party who had sanctioned the competence of the Catanzaro Public Prosecutor’s Office.
