Prisons: three flee from Treviso, two already recovered

(ANSA) – TREVISO, JUN 09 – Three inmates of Albanian origin escaped from the Treviso prison, around 5:00 today, after cutting the bars of the cell and lowering themselves with the sheets. Two of them were immediately taken back by the prison police. The news was announced by Gennarino De Fazio, Secretary General of the Uilpa Penitentiary Police.

The fugitive, aged 27, was detained on a European arrest warrant for attempted murder, robbery, possession of explosives and other drug trafficking crimes, all committed outside Italy.

“With a metaphor – comments De Fazio – we were talking about the escape from prison of prison operators and managers; not even the time to spread it and we learned of yet another real escape, conducted with the most classic method. All this returns, if there was still a need and someone did not understand it, the picture of inefficiency, approximation and insecurity in which the prisons of the country find themselves “, he concludes.
