(ANSA) – FLORENCE, 10 JUN – The Florence public prosecutor has filed an appeal with the Supreme Court against the acquittal of Fausta Bonino, the nurse who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the first degree for killing four patients in the Piombino hospital ( Livorno) with injections of heparin but was later acquitted in the second degree by the appellate court. The nurse went to trial for the abnormal deaths of 10 patients that occurred under dubious circumstances between 2014 and 2015 in the ward where she was assigned. “The motivation of the Court of Appeal is deficient and manifestly illogical and contradictory”, according to the pg Fabio Origlio who appealed to the Supreme Court and who in the appeal process had asked to sentence the nurse for the voluntary murder in nine of the ten doubtful deaths brought to the trial.
