Corruption: Prosecutor asks for the immediate Sardinian councilor

(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, 11 JUN – The Cagliari prosecutor has asked for immediate judgment against the regional councilor of the Misto group Valerio De Giorgi, 57, who ended up under house arrest at the end of March on the orders of the investigating magistrate Giorgio Altieri with accusations of corruption , attempted fraud and swap vote at the conclusion of an investigation by the financial police unit of the financial police of the capital, coordinated by prosecutor Giangiacomo Pilia. The two Sardinian quoditiani account for this.

The same request also for the two suspects: De Giorgi’s collaborator, Marco Pili, accused of attempted fraud, and the builder of Quartucciu, Corrado Deiana. For the regional councilor and the entrepreneur the accusation is of corruption for having agreed on an amendment on the house plan (De Giorgi at the time was president of the Budget Commission) in exchange for four apartments obtained by the politician, while Pili is being investigated for alleged irregularities on the contributions to the Pro Loco of Cagliari founded by people very close to De Giorgi, if not by family members themselves.

The exponent of the Mixed group is also charged with the crime of swapping votes: according to the prosecution, he promised jobs and other favors in exchange for a preference, asking as proof the photo taken in the voting booth. If the request for immediate judgment is accepted, the three will go directly to trial without going through the preliminary hearing.
