(ANSA) – REGGIO EMILIA, 12 JUN – Technical surveys continue on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines in the area where the helicopter that crashed Thursday was located yesterday for reasons yet to be clarified and in whose crash all the people on board died, pilot and six passengers. The affected area, placed under sequestration, is a gully of Mount Cusna, in the Villa Minozzo area (Reggio Emilia), at about 1,900 meters above sea level.

The debris of the helicopter and the seven corpses, mostly charred, were found among the trees and the bed of the Lama torrent, a particularly inaccessible and difficult to reach area, which were recovered yesterday. From the conditions the impact must have been fatal but it is from the autopsies, arranged, that further clarifications can come.

The Reggio Emilia Prosecutor’s Office, prosecutor Marco Marano, is proceeding with the investigation, strictly confidential. The open file, passed from Lucca to Reggio for competence, is for culpable disaster and manslaughter. Currently borne by unknown persons.

The points to be clarified on the disaster remain different. Whether the weather conditions had an influence, whether there were any other problems, whether it was mere fatality or whether there are responsibilities instead. In short, if the tragedy could have been avoided. The answers will have to come from the analysis of the reliefs and the black box. (HANDLE).
