Overtaken by buses, cyclists attack the driver

(ANSA) – SAVONA, JUN 13 – A driver of the local public transport in the Savona area was attacked yesterday by two cyclists who ambushed her after being overtaken by the vehicle at Zinola. The 45-year-old woman, on line 40, was admitted to the San Paolo hospital in Savona where she was found to have injuries to her hands and arms and bruises. According to what was told by the woman and the passengers, the two cyclists, a man and a woman, placed one of the two bicycles in front of the bus in order to prevent the vehicle from starting again after the stop. The cyclist got into the vehicle and, despite the bulkheads preventing her from reaching the driver, she threw herself on the dashboard, reaching the woman driving and starting to beat her. At the intervention of a passenger, the attacker got out and, in a hurry, both she and her companion recovered the bicycles and fled. To avoid interrupting the service, the Tpl driver got back to driving and managed to get to Spotorno after contacting the company management and rescuers. She stopped in Spotorno and was accompanied to the emergency room of the San Paolo. She where she was then discharged with a prognosis of one week.
