The Vigna Clara station reopens in Rome after a 30-year stop

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 13 – The Vigna Clara station reopens after more than 30 years. The first train, after the long stop, left this morning to inaugurate the restart the Regional 5980.

The activation of the Vigna Clara – Valle Aurelia line will be a turning point for traffic: an increase in trains is expected since, to date, only 9 journeys a day are scheduled.

Vigna Clara station was inaugurated on the occasion of the 1990 World Cup in Rome and was used only for eight days. Then there was the hypothesis of reopening it for the 2016 Jubilee. In 2021 the Capitol announced the resumption of operations in March 2022. After authorizations and general rehearsals, the first train left today. The section will connect the northern quadrant of the city with the metro A and the Fl3 Rome-Viterbo, then with Ostiense and Tiburtina, in less than half an hour. (HANDLE).
