Pandemic effect on blood shortage:

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 14 – It was her mother who killed Elena, the 5-year-old girl whose kidnapping yesterday she had reported in Catania. It was the same woman, Martina Patti, 23, who confessed it to the Carabinieri during an interrogation. According to what emerges, the young woman allegedly killed her daughter in her house in Mascalucia and then took her body to a nearby abandoned country plot trying to cover it with earth and lava ash. The crime was allegedly committed after the woman had taken the child from her nursery while she was alone in the house. The motive and dynamics of the killing are not yet clear. The mother would have said that she acted without understanding what she was doing. An aid to the investigation may come from the autopsy ordered by the Prosecutor’s Office. (HANDLE).
