Extortion against Genoa: the trial of 16 ultras requested

Room, Fig:

(ANSA) – GENOA, 14 JUN – The Genoa public prosecutor has asked for the indictment of 16 people, mostly Genoa ultras, as part of the investigation into the extortion of the company.

In the request, signed by the deputy Francesca Rombolà and by the prosecutor Francesco Pinto, Massimo Leopizzi, Artur Marashi and Fabrizio Fileni, who had also ended up in prison, are accused of criminal association aimed at extortion and private violence for having extorted from Genoa since 2010 to 2017 about 327 thousand euros. 13 other suspects will end up in front of the judge for the preliminary hearing. None of them, after the notice of the conclusion of the preliminary investigations, chose to be questioned to contest the charges.

According to the investigators, the group of fans threatened to force the company, in the person of the managing director Alessandro Zarbano, to pay the money through invoices for non-existent operations in favor of Sicurart of which Leopizzi was an occult partner. The group is also accused of attacking players and coaches when they did not win games or did not play as they wanted. The ultras according to the indictment would have imposed the “typhus peace” in exchange for money.

Among the contested episodes the threats and intimidation to other rossoblù fans who did not respect the directives of Leopizzi regarding the behavior to be kept inside the stadium when, for example, it was decided not to enter for protest or on the contrary to contest the players, the fictitious headings of nominee companies and companies to avoid possible kidnappings by the judiciary as well as injuries to some policemen at the end of the Genoa-Crotone match on 22 January 2017.
