(ANSA) – VATICAN CITY, JUN 19 – Pursuit through the streets of the capital between a BMW and police and Carabinieri cars. To stop the fugitive, a 39-year-old Albanian who had forced a checkpoint near the Vatican, a shot was also fired in the direction of the car’s wheels.
The man however fled and was stopped after a short chase by the police who used the taser to block him.
The car with the 39-year-old on board continued its run in the direction of via Gregorio VII where he was intercepted by a police car. However, the man continued on his run.
During his escape he would have thrown a wallet and a watch out of the window. To block it, a police vehicle was placed across the road: the fugitive therefore barricaded himself in the car so that to extract it from the car it was necessary to break a window glass. After stopping him, also thanks to the use of the taser, the 39-year-old was taken to the hospital as well as two officers who were injured in the daring chase. (HANDLE).
