(ANSA) – SASSARI, 20 JUN – The autopsy on the newborn girl from Burgos, a small town in the province of Sassari, born at home and found lifeless on Friday afternoon, five days will take place at 3 pm at the Policlinico di Monserrato (Cagliari) after birth, in an apparent state of malnutrition. This morning the Deputy Attorney of the Republic of the Court of Nuoro, Giorgio Bocciarelli, has given the task of examining the necropsy to the coroner Alberto Chighine. Even the lawyers Salvatore Lai and Giuseppe Floris, defenders of the 28-year-old mother of the newborn and her cohabiting family members (parents and sister), currently all under investigation for neglect of incapacity, have appointed their own biased expert, the professional Nicola Lenigno.
The results of the autopsy will provide the investigators with information on the causes of the child’s death, on which, at the time of the discovery of the body by the carabinieri and the 118 doctors, called by the young mother, there were no obvious signs of violence. Meanwhile, the Carabinieri of the Bono Company, led by Captain Davide Masina, continued their investigations today and listened to new witnesses and acquaintances of the family to try to reconstruct a precise picture of the circumstances that may have led to the tragedy.
In the coming days, the four suspects, already heard several times by the military, will be formally questioned by prosecutor Bocciarelli. For now, the mother, aunt and grandparents of the child are being investigated for neglect, but based on the results of the autopsy their position could change. (HANDLE).
