(ANSA) – TRIESTE, JUN 24 – Due to thunderstorms with heavy rain and wind that hit the regional territory in the night, about fifty rescue interventions related to the adverse weather conditions that the Friuli Venezia Giulia firefighters have brought completed in the last few hours.
The areas most affected were those under the jurisdiction of the Gorizia and Udine commands, where firefighters were alerted due to unsafe or fallen trees on the roads, water damage in homes and basements, flooded underpasses with people stuck inside the cars, as in the case of Pozzuolo del Friuli (Udine), where rapid evacuation was necessary as the water level was reaching that of the vehicle cabins.
In detail, about twenty interventions were carried out by the personnel of the Gorizia command and 25 by that of the Udine command.
Some requests for help were also made to the command of Pordenone, for trees and flooding in the foothills. (HANDLE).
