(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 24 – The number of red stickers is back to rise, with which the Ministry of Health indicates the cities where the health of everyone, inhabitants and tourists, and not just the frail, is most at risk due to the heat . If today and tomorrow there are two, Campobasso and Pescara, the urban centers with the highest level of alert, on Sunday they become 7: in addition to the capital of Molise and the city of Abruzzo, Ancona, Catania, Palermo, Perugia and Reggio Calabria have a red sticker. Also indicating the fact that the heat will intensify again on Sunday are the 14 orange stickers (health risk only for the most fragile population), more than double those of today (6) and twice those of tomorrow (7).

Among the 14 orange stickers, there are almost all the big cities: Rome, Milan, Bologna, Naples and Florence (all today and tomorrow with the ‘yellow’ sticker, which indicates the hot pre-alert status), while Turin passes on Sunday to yellow after two days of green (no risk for everyone). These data come from the Ministry of Health’s heat wave bulletin which ‘photographs’ 27 urban centers. Heat waves, the ministry’s website reads, occur when very high temperatures are recorded for several consecutive days, often associated with high humidity, strong solar radiation and no ventilation. These climatic conditions can pose a health risk to the population.
