(ANSA) – PULFERO, June 27 – A 31-year-old man from Torreano (Udine) has been missing since Saturday on the Palma del Matajur ferrata.

The exit was to take place with a friend who then gave up on accompanying him.

The searches started this morning: the Udine Alpine Rescue station was activated, which coordinates operations from the Stupizza base camp, together with the Guardia di Finanza, the Carabinieri, the Civil Protection helicopter for overflight on the other, the dog unit and a molecular dog. The man’s car was found in the village of Stupizza and not at the Stupizza pass from where the via ferrata starts.

The latter is an aided itinerary of more than a thousand meters in altitude that rises on the wildest and most rugged side of Mount Matajur, covered by a dense bush. The ground crews are patrolling the two paths leading down to Stupizza. (HANDLE).
