Deactivated device addressed to Leonardo’s CEO, Profumo

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 27 – A package containing gunpowder and wires, addressed to Leonardo’s CEO, Alessandro Profumo, arrived today in the company’s correspondence office in Rome and was deactivated by the police bomb squad. The sender appears to be from a law firm and investigators are investigating.

Leonardo has a security procedure on incoming correspondence, which is carefully checked. The checks on the package revealed the presence of gunpowder; the area was therefore immediately made safe pending the arrival of the bomb squad who defused the bomb on the spot without detonating it. In this way it will be possible to carry out all subsequent investigations on the material that has been seized. (HANDLE).
