Not just cars. In Naples the moorers are also abusive

(ANSA) – NAPLES, JUN 28 – Not only the ‘classic’ illegal car parkers: in Naples, in this torrid summer when many seek shelter in the sea from the heat, even the figure of the illegal boat mover has made its way . This is how the Police and the Port Authority dismantled a real illegal port that had been set up in the Mergellina area.

Here the divers of the Police ascertained that a completely illegal mooring system had been set up, consisting of large-caliber top spars anchored to two reefs, to which as many as 25 boats were tied. These were removed by the owners, while the tops were disposed of by the staff of the Municipality of Naples.

But that’s not all, because the patrons of the marina and the Nazario Sauro roundabout could also take advantage of deckchairs and iced drinks. Policemen and the Coast Guard thus cleared umbrellas, chairs and tables from a quay: three Neapolitans with precedents were reported for illegal occupation of state-owned space (an area of 200 square meters), while the managers of two kiosks were charged with two violations of the Highway Code as, with tables, chairs and refrigerators, they had taken possession of a nice piece of “road soil” (56 square meters, to be precise) without obviously any authorization.

“We need zero tolerance against illegal landings”, thunders the regional councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli. “The abusive moorers are the abusive parkers of the sea. They exploit a good of all to do their dirty business and get rich. Sometimes they are also polluters or environmental devastators such as predators of sea dates.” (HANDLE).
