People’s Deputy Anton Polyakov was at a meeting of the Rada on the eve of his death. The deputy’s acquaintances say that he had not previously complained about his health.
Yulia Grishina, a deputy from Servant of the People, spoke about this on the air of the Ukraine 24 channel.
According to her, it was Polyakov who initiated the extraordinary meeting the day before. Although none of its laws were put to a vote.
As colleagues say, Polyakov led an active lifestyle and went in for jogging, did not complain about his health.
“Anton was only 33 years old, he was a young and very active person. This is a great tragedy,” Grishina said.
The Servant of the People party does not exclude that the death could be associated with Polyakov’s political activities, but Grishina urges not to give premature assessments.
“I heard the versions that were put forward by colleagues that he actively spoke out against the current government. There are people in each faction who oppose the government, so now it is unfair and incorrect to say such things. There can be a lot of versions, we all need wait for the official version, “Grishina notes.
What is known about Anton Polyakov?
- Anton Polyakov was born on November 11, 1987 in Chernigov into a large family. He is survived by a wife and two daughters.
- He got to the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People party. But on November 15, 2019, he and Anna Skorokhod were expelled from the faction. The official reason is non-voting for bills, on which there is a common decision of the faction.
- And in December 2019, Polyakov decided to leave the Servant of the People party altogether and in 2020 became a member of the For Maybutn party.
- Polyakov is also known for having submitted more than 6 thousand amendments to the banking bill regulating the issues of banks withdrawn from the market. In general, a record number of amendments have been submitted to the bill – more than 16 thousand.
- On September 2, 2020, Polyakov was attacked in the center of Kiev. An unknown person on the street began to strangle the people’s deputy and threaten him. Then the attacker struck several blows in the chest area.
