Eleonora Sambri, the partisan Mimì, died at 96

(ANSA) – BOLOGNA, June 30 – The partisan Eleonora Sambri, nominee Mimì, died at the age of 96. The Bolognese Municipality of Castel Maggiore reports this. Born on May 3, 1926 in Bentivoglio (Bologna), Eleonora Sambri began her work as a mondina on June 1, 1944. In the following months and years, educated by older women, she joined in protest and vindicating actions. She actively participated in the agitations and strikes of the bentivogliese mondine which took place in May and June 1944.

She served in the Cirillo battalion of the 4th Venturoli Garibaldi brigade and worked in Bentivoglio, with the function of relay, and was recognized as a partisan from 15 April 1944 to the Liberation.
