Drought: Anbi, 80% ER in two weeks in the red zone

(ANSA) – BOLOGNA, 30 JUN – “It is a situation of deep water crisis in Emilia-Romagna”, where the flow of rivers continues to descend (Reno with 0.1 cubic meters / sec, Enza 1.1 cubic meters / sec .

which mark an all-time low) and “80% of the region seems destined to enter the red zone within a couple of weeks (it already happened in 1990)”. This was underlined by the Anbi Observatory. Situation of constant deficit for the Venetian rivers with the sole exception of the Piave; the hydrometric heights of Adige (from 2014) and Livenza (from 2017) are at a minimum. Furthermore, in Friuli, releases from the Ambiesta basin were necessary to replenish the Tagliamento river, while irrigation rationing is underway in some central areas due to the too low groundwater.

In Piedmont, the rains were “patchy”: more abundant on the Sesia river basin, less intense on that of the Tanaro. The flows in the riverbed are growing slightly, but do not allow the rivers of the region to emerge from the state of extreme crisis: Maira, Ellero, Orba and Bormida have almost zero flows. In Lombardy the flow rates of the Brembo and Adda rivers continue to decrease, remaining deficient, to a minimum in recent years (162 mc / sec); water reserves mark -62.7% compared to the historical average and -66.54% on last year.
