(ANSA) – CAULONIA, 01 JUL – More landings of migrants along the coast of Locri. This is the fifth arrival in the past four days. The migrants, of Pakistani nationality, arrived today are 57. Also on board the body of a migrant who died during the voyage at sea. The migrants arrived in the late morning today reaching the shore, on the outskirts of Marina di Caulonia, with a sailboat that ran aground on the beach and was then released by the Coast Guard and towed to the port of Roccella Ionica. To report to the police the autonomous landing were some bathers who were not far from the stretch of shoreline where the sailboat ran aground. The Locri Prosecutor’s Office ordered the seizure of the boat and the corpse of the young migrant, at the same time ordering a first external examination, to be carried out at the Port of Roccella, by a coroner.
With today’s arrival, the number of migrant landings in Locride alone has risen to 31 in these first 6 months of 2022.
