Fire Brigade strike, Jova Beach party in Aosta at risk

(ANSA) – AOSTA, 02 JUL – The Gressan (Aosta) stage of the Jova Beach party tour scheduled for next Wednesday 13 July is at risk. In conjunction with the event, the Conapo and Fp Cgil unions have in fact proclaimed a 10-hour strike by the Aosta Valley Fire Brigade, from 14 (scheduled time for the opening of the gates) to 23.59 (the start of the show is around 20). The service on the occasion of concerts is not among the minimum essentials foreseen – on the contrary, for example, of the urgent technical assistance to the population – and the performance of Jovanotti in front of thousands of fans could not therefore take place if this safety requirement were to be lacking.

For some time now, the Aosta firefighters have been asking their colleagues in the National Corps for a social security equalization and regulatory, legal and economic adjustments to their contract. In 2019, with their own referendum, they voted to return under the aegis of the state. The strike is linked to “the complete failure to comply with the commitments made during the conciliation attempt following the state of agitation announced on March 22”. In the document received on June 30 by the Valle d’Aosta Region, the two unions underline that “the strike may eventually be revoked only in the face of a formal commitment by the regional government, also signed by the Oo.ss, to resolve within the calendar year all applications presented “, starting with the establishment of the ‘rescue and safety sector’.
