Today is record heat, 22 cities with the red badge

Twenty-two cities with the red label for the risk of heat had never seen each other this year. This is what will happen today, with the bulletin of the Ministry of Health which indicates with the level 3the maximum and for the entire population (on a scale starting from 0) the urban centers of Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Cagliari, Campobasso, Catania, Civitavecchia, Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Messina, Naples, Palermo , Perugia, Pescara, Reggio Calabria, Rieti, Rome, Trieste and Viterbo.

Today 3 cities (of the 27 taken into consideration by the ministry bulletin) of the north will “breathe”: Turin, Venice and Genoa with the yellow sticker, while Milan and Verona are in orange.

Heat waves, the Ministry of Health notes on its website, occur when very high temperatures are recorded for several consecutive days, often associated with high humidity, strong solar radiation and lack of ventilation. These climatic conditions, the ministry notes, “can represent a health risk of the population”.

The weather forecast also speaks of an increase in heat this weekend: in Rome and Florenceaccording to Andrea Garbinato, meteorologist of iLMeteo.it, temperatures of 39-40 degrees and peaks of 42 degrees in the inland areas of Umbria, Lazio and Abruzzo.

The peakbased on mathematical models, is expected on July 4th then the temperatures could return to drop as early as the following day.
