(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 02 – “The reform of citizenship with the Ius scholae meets the reality of a country that is changing. I hope that reasons and reality prevail over ideological debates for the good not only of those who expect this law but also of Italy which is one of the oldest countries in the world “. This was stated by Monsignor Gian Carlo Perego who in the CEI is the President of the Episcopal Commission for Migration and President of the Migrantes Foundation.

To those political forces that affirm that the representative of the CEI is not a priority replies: “We have been talking about it for at least fifteen years, opposing the high bills makes no sense”.

“The Italian Church will continue to support this type of line that reads a reality that already exists. It is now up to politics to take a step”, says the bishop in charge of migration policies. (HANDLE).
