The judges of the Court of Assizes of Frosinone they entered the council chamber to decide on the sentencing requests for the murder of Willy Monteiro Duarte which took place in September 2020. A beating dictated by a “violent impulse” carried out by expert hands, according to the prosecutors who asked for life imprisonment for the brothers Marco and Gabriele Bianchi and 24 years for Mario Pincarelli and Francesco Belleggia. The first instance sentence is expected no earlier than 1pm.
“We await this sentence with serenity as we have faced the entire process – affirms the lawyer Domenico Marzi, lawyer of Willy’s mother and sister -. The elements gathered on this tragic story are in my opinion unique”.
The 21-year-old was attacked to death on the night of 6 September 2020 in front of a restaurant in Colleferro, a center in the province of Rome. A blitz of violence for no reason. A “totally disproportionate action” and “aggressive with lethal outcomes”, as the prosecutors of Velletri wrote in the replies sent to the parties in recent days. According to the accusatory system “it appears evident, as there was no element to justify a conduct of that type” and carried out “using” a banal discussion born outside a club.
That night the Bianchi brothers gave “vent to their violent impulse, approaching the crowd – the prosecutors write – with the sole intent of harming and not withdrawing from their criminal intent despite the attempts of” some present “to explain how there was absolutely no the need to use violence “. For the prosecution, in fact, there is no motive for what happened to Willy. A picture of violence “so banal that it can be defined as ‘non-motive'”, says the prosecution.
In the indictment of 12 May, the representatives of the prosecution reconstructed the stages of the beating.
Basically Willy found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. “The action started with Marco and Gabriele Bianchi but then joins with that of Belleggia and Pincarelli and becoming a united action – explained the prosecutors -. What happened to Willy could have happened to anyone else who was faced with” to the pack. A central role in the indictment was played by the modus operandi of the four and in particular the knowledge of MMA, the martial art of which the Whites are experts. A technique that was used as a weapon to “annihilate the contender” and to “do it without considering the consequences of the blows “.
