(ANSA) – PERUGIA, 06 JULY – “It was very very, very hard, a dark tunnel but now thank God I got out of it”: speaking is Patrick Lumumba, the one who considers himself the “second victim” of the murder by Meredith Kercher, made in November 2007 in Perugia where she lived at the time. Crime for which he was arrested and then released after 14 days, thus being immediately acquitted because it was totally unrelated to what happened.
Lumumba has recently left the Umbrian capital for Poland. “Now I live with my family in Krakow where I am the majority shareholder of a subcontracting company” he says speaking with ANSA.
For him “it is difficult to completely forget” what happened to him for the Kercher murder. “I’ll take it to my grave,” he said.
Of the 14 days in prison, Lumumba remembers “a great sadness”. “We must never forget – he stressed again – Meredith but I have always considered myself the second victim. I remember the first three days alone in my cell, innocent without knowing what had happened, the isolation, the wall in front of the window. police headquarters I thought I would go home immediately because I trusted … “.
“It’s a closed chapter for me now and I’m out of the tunnel” concluded Lumumba. (HANDLE).
