(ANSA) – BARI, 07 JUL – In Puglia on Tuesday a new peak of access to emergency rooms was recorded, 3,223 patients in just 24 hours according to the monitoring of the National Agency for Regional Health Services. This number of patients assisted had never been touched, in June the maximum number of visits was 3,078. Of the 3,223 patients visited, only 6.55% concerned suspected Covid suspects. The emergency rooms in Puglia are in difficulty due to the staff reduced to the bone, between holidays to be disposed of and a chronic shortage of doctors.

So much so that the Region was forced to intervene with a circular authorizing general managers to employ all hospital doctors from other departments on shifts.
