Fraud involving European funds, 16 suspects and seals on 2 million assets

(ANSA) – NUORO, 08 JUL – An alleged fraud within the Rural Development Program – PSR Sardinia 2014/2020 for over two million euros has been discovered by the Nuoro Financial Police. Sixteen people – 15 farm owners and an agricultural expert accused of having invented the fraud – were entered in the register of suspects and assets for 2.1 million euros were seized.

“The subjects were reported to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office based in Luxembourg, EPPO (European Public Prosecutor’s Office) – reported by the Fiamme Gialle – news of absolute importance in the panorama of criminal justice and a particularly significant step in the processes of strengthening judicial cooperation at European”. According to what was ascertained by the Guardia di Finanza, the suspects through bogus documents that they exchanged with each other, including tax invoices for non-existent operations, were able to prove expenses and costs that they had not incurred, thus obtaining a higher contribution from European funds, equal to 2,017 .000 euros.

The yellow flames have carried out all the checks and discovered the fraud. At the end of the investigations, the Court of Nuoro on the proposal of the European Public Prosecutor authorized the precautionary capital measures for a value of over 2,131,000 euros.

The figure includes 118 thousand euros received by a professional in the agricultural sector who would have devised the fraudulent system and put the various subjects in relation. (HANDLE).
