(ANSA) – SALERNO, 10 JUL – A robbery that ended in tragedy: while not excluding other hypotheses, the investigators carefully consider that of an assault against the two elderly sisters found this morning in their apartment, one dead and the other with injuries to the face.
The house was turned upside down, and the police are trying, with the help of family members, to understand if and what could have been taken away. One or more criminals, aware of the fact that two elderly lonely lived in that house on the first floor of Via San Leonardo, may have imagined an ‘easy’ blow, which instead turned into a violent attack that would have caused the 91-year-old’s death. It is not clear whether blunt objects may have been used, at the moment – pending the autopsy – it is inclined to exclude the use of stabbing weapons against the two women. The surviving sister, aged 87, remains hospitalized at Ruggi di Salerno with a facial trauma which, according to the doctors, could have been caused by a fall or beatings. The woman is still in shock but the investigators will try to collect her testimony, in the next few hours or tomorrow. (HANDLE).
