This was announced by the mayor of Fiumicino Esterino Montino. “In these days our technicians have carried out a new inspection in the Monumental Pinewood of Fregene and the result is great news: there is no longer any plant with cochineal. The parasite has been eradicated in all plants”, explains Montino.
“The 1500 trees of the Monumental Pinewood are now well and have begun to sprout again”, adds the deputy mayor Ezio Di Genesio Pagliuca. Each of the secular pines were given three injections of the molecule authorized by the Ministry and the Region for the treatment against cochineal. In some cases, even four for a total of about 6000 administrations. “The treatment has proved effective and the black part that can still be seen on the trees precedes our intervention – continues the mayor -.
