(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 12 – No World Cup in Qatar for the Azzurri. However, there will be 560 Italian soldiers who will participate in the bilateral mission to support the Qatari armed forces to ensure that the event – scheduled between 21 November and 18 December next – takes place in a security setting. This is foreseen by the resolution of the Council of Ministers on Italy’s participation in international missions, now being examined by the Defense Committee of the Chamber. Among the new missions is also the one for the strengthening of NATO’s eastern flank: 1,000 soldiers will be sent to Bulgaria (about 750 units) and Hungary. Finally, 15 men will be sent to Mozambique as part of the European mission Eutm Mozambique. (HANDLE).
