(ANSA) – PERUGIA, 13 JULY – The Trasimeno level drops again, touching less than one meter and 37 centimeters on the hydrometric zero on the island of Polvese, but continues to “resist” in everyday life, made up of tourists and fish fauna .
The lake is in great pain due to the prolonged absence of rain and the torrid heat that is characterizing the summer. A suffering that manifests itself at a glance from afar, when, arriving from the parts of San Feliciano di Magione, the body of water is so “dry” that you can only see mucilage and the vegetation that protrudes from the seabed.
But the life of the lake continues and the symbol of resistance is the ferry that continues to connect the island to the mainland.
Thanks to the particular type of boat, navigation is ensured despite the drought and thus the connections with the Polvese are guaranteed for the happiness especially of the tourists who, again this year, have chosen Umbria and Trasimeno.
But the lake that does not surrender to drought is also represented by the multitude of fauna that has always populated it. The nests, for example, in the water of some birds, a few meters from the shore, give emotions. (HANDLE).
