Air strike ended, hundreds of cancellations and delays

AND’ the 4-hour air transport strike ended at 6 pm proclaimed by some unions of air traffic controllers, and by the workers of low cost airlines, such as the pilots and flight attendants of Ryanair, Malta Air and CrewLink, Easy Jet and Volotea. Hundreds of flights canceled throughout Italy, about 100 only in Fiumicino between arrivals and departures. Ita Airways canceled 122 flights. Delays on the rest of the flight scheduling pending return to full normality in the next few hours.

At the airport of Fiumicino, where two garrisons took place, respectively outside Terminals 1 and 3, under the eye of the police, called by the trade unions, there were about fifty flights canceled in departure and as many in arrival, while others connections were brought forward or postponed with respect to the time slot involved in the agitation, with inconveniences that remained limited due to the effect of the information provided in advance by the airlines to their passengers. Among the penalized travelers, in particular, those arriving from abroad who have not found the connection or foreign passengers surprised and unaware of the strikes. On the boards of the Roman airport, the word “canceled” next to the flights that were penalized, almost exclusively on national or European routes, remained visible until 5.10 pm to make room, then, gradually, for regular programming, except for some aftermath of delays. afternoon and evening, today characterized by a notable holiday influx, both departing and arriving. The staff of the companies worked to assist the passengers who were penalized, reprotecting them with the first useful flights in the evening, or for tomorrow.
