Plane late for strike, Sardinian choir sings in Fiumicino

Air fares, Assoutenti:

(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, 18 JUL – On the day of the maxi strike of air transport there are those who did not lose heart and despite the flight was delayed by over an hour, they decided to pass the wait by offering a show particular inside the airport of Rome. It happened yesterday in Fiumicino: the Ghentiana Choir of Ruinas (Oristano) improvised a mini concert using the piano of the airport and offering travelers a series of traditional Sardinian songs. The video, shot by Maurizio Setzu who follows the group’s social pages, immediately reached thousands of views on Youtube and on social networks.

The choir, in business since 2007, was in the Peninsula to animate the liturgical celebrations in the Vatican, in St. Peter’s (where they sang at last Saturday’s mass at 5pm) and in Assisi, for the 12pm mass on Sunday. At 10.40 pm the members of the choir should have taken the return flight to Cagliari, but the day of strikes by the flight controllers and the employees of some airline companies has caused the departure to be postponed. So, after having passed the security checks and verified the delay, Maestro Gianni Puddu sat in front of the piano placed right in front of Gate 4 – where their flight had been called – and began to play. The choir sang some pieces of its repertoire, gathering around it the public formed by other travelers waiting to leave. A very welcome show not only by those who were at the airport but also by many Internet users who saw the mini concert on the web. (HANDLE).
