(ANSA) – TURIN, 19 JUL – “Here at work there is a guy who kills them when he finds cats: I don’t mention the name because I’m sure I’m losing his job”. This was said in 2016 by a 40-year-old woman today to Forestry officials who were trying to shed light on a chain of mysterious animal disappearances in the Cuneo area. This attitude cost her a one-month sentence for aiding and abetting which was confirmed by the Supreme Court.

In the first instance the Cuneo court had acquitted the accused recognizing the “state of necessity”, but in 2021 the Court of Appeal, in Turin, overturned the judgment.

The scene of the story was a bus garage where, according to what is obtained from the trial papers, it was suspected that there was mistreatment and “repeated killing” of animals. (HANDLE).
