(ANSA) – PALERMO, 21 JUL – They allegedly exploited and underpaid some Nigerian immigrants housed in reception centers and employed in the Diadema consortium that operates in the cleaning sector in Sicily. Many more hours of work, about 10 per day, for a wage of 400 euros per month. Five people, three managers of consortium companies and two managers of immigrant reception centers, ended up under house arrest on charges of criminal association aimed at illicit intermediation and labor exploitation, as well as fraud and extortion, with the aggravating circumstance of having committed the act to the detriment of the State and with the abuse of work performance relationships.
