(ANSA) – TURIN, JULY 22 – Due to the high temperature, the ozone information threshold has been exceeded in Turin. With the current conditions of strong solar radiation and high temperatures, other exceedances could take place in the next few days. This was recalled by the Department of the Environment, who invites you to avoid recreational activities with intense physical exercise outdoors in sunny places. When working outdoors, it is recommended to avoid concentrating strenuous activities in the hours of greatest sunshine (approximately between 11 and 17), finally taking breaks in shaded areas or structures.
The most sensitive subjects (children, the elderly, heart patients, asthmatics or people suffering from respiratory diseases) are also reminded to avoid staying outdoors in sunny places.
The suggestion for everyone is to supplement their diet with foods containing antioxidants, such as fresh fruits and vegetables. The situation is monitored by the ARPA (Regional Agency for the Environment) of Piedmont. (HANDLE).
