(ANSA) – PORCARI (LUCCA), 23 JUL – Tons of waste paper were burned in a fire that broke out around 10:30 pm in the external square of DS Smith, a paper company in Porcari (Lucca) which is located near the exit motorway of Capannori on the Firenze Mare. The first to intervene were the night shift workers who immediately activated the internal fire prevention plan after having raised the alarm. Then the arrival of the vehicles of the firefighters from Lucca with the fire engines that prevented the flames from spreading to the plant.
Impressive images of the fire and the dense column of smoke visible from miles away. The remediation work started with the isolation of the presses made up of tons of recycled paper and then controlled the outbreaks until they were exhausted. Huge damages for the Porcari company. (HANDLE).
