(ANSA) – MANTOVA, JUL 23 – The 38-year-old who last Sunday, driving an SUV, had run over and killed on an embankment road in San Benedetto was denounced on the loose by the carabinieri for aggravated road murder and failure to rescue Po, in the Mantua area, a 16-year-old on a bicycle.
The military, in the days following the accident, acquired some video surveillance images, even at the suspect’s home, to detect who was driving at the time of the investment. The man, during the interrogation, then admitted that he was driving the SUV that hit the boy and that he immediately went home to pick up the partner with whom he had returned to the accident site. Here the woman had declared to the carabinieri, who had arrived in the meantime, that she was the one who drove the car that had hit the young man.
The carabinieri had subjected the two to the alcohol test which for the woman was negative while for the man it was just over the minimum limit allowed to drive.
