(ANSA) – CROTONE, JUL 24 – 154 people disembarked in the port of Crotone following the rescue intervention of the Financial Police and Coast Guard to rescue 550 people who were on board a fishing boat that left Libya and intercepted between Calabria and Sicily.

154 people were transferred to Crotone, all men coming mostly from Egypt, who were taken to the port by the “Di Bartolo” ship of the Guardia di Finanza. The landing operations, made complicated by the scorching heat due to which there were some illnesses among the migrants, were coordinated by the Prefecture of Crotone with the intervention of the men of the immigration office of the Police Headquarters. The health conditions of the migrants were checked by the doctors of Suem 118, while the transfer to the reception center in Sant’Anna was managed by the Italian Red Cross in Crotone (ANSA).
