(ANSA) – TURIN, 25 JUL – The Department of Agriculture of the Piedmont Region extended the terms for submitting applications for the granting of grants to cover the costs of designing irrigation infrastructures and reclamation in Piedmont to 31 October 2022 . The economic measure is intended for those works aimed at the sustainable and efficient supply and management of water resources.

The deadline was originally scheduled for 31 July.

The regional tender, which has a financial endowment of 2 million and 450 thousand euros, is aimed at reclamation consortia, irrigation consortia and canal managers belonging to the state property or regional heritage.

The financial endowment will be divided among the beneficiaries up to a maximum of 150 thousand euros. According to the Councilor for Agriculture Marco Protopapa, “the extension is necessary to evaluate also new strategies developed following the current water emergency, which has led to situations of severe water shortage. The drought, as a consequence – he stressed -, has put in difficulty the consortia themselves which are committed to guaranteeing a greater and more constant availability of water, essential for irrigation in agriculture “.
