(ANSA) – CAMPOBELLO DI MAZARA, 27 JUL – A fire broke out last night, around 2 am, in the therapeutic community house ‘The turning point for rebirth’ in Campobello di Mazara.
The flames would have developed from a short circuit in the dining room and then spread to the sleeping area. The operators who noticed the fire were able to wake up the 19 guests and evacuate them in time. Three of them jumped from the balcony on the first floor and ended up in the open space below which is used as a garage and garden.
Fractures were found in the “Abele Ajello” hospital in Mazara del Vallo. Carabinieri and firefighters intervened on the spot and took several hours to put out the fire. The structure has now been considered unusable. (HANDLE).
