(ANSA) – CATANZARO, 28 JUL – A fire broke out this morning, for reasons yet to be ascertained, in the “Caffè Guglielmo” roasting plant in Copanello di Staletti, in the Catanzaro area. Fire brigade teams from the Catanzaro Command and the Soverato detachment intervened on the spot. The fire, which broke out shortly after 5, involved numerous stacks of wooden platforms, plastic bags and four cars parked in the internal square of the plant between two warehouses used for storage of raw materials and products used during processing.
The firefighters, thanks to the timely and massive intervention, managed to secure the site by completely extinguishing the flames and avoiding the spread of the same inside the structures. The fire caused blackening of the external facades of the sheds due to the dense smoke emitted by the combustion and the deformation of some shutters due to high temperatures. No damage to people and structures.
Investigations are underway on the origin of the fire. The carabinieri also intervened on the spot. (HANDLE).
