(ANSA) – CATANIA, 28 JUL – The 15-year-old arrested two days ago on charges of killing his mother, Valentina Giunta, 32, from Catania, was questioned by the investigating judge during the hearings to validate the arrest. stabbed on the stairs of the house she was about to move from last Monday evening. The outcome of the hearing is not yet known. For tomorrow, however, the assignment of the forensic doctors is set, who will have to carry out an autopsy on the body of the woman hit by 4 stab wounds. The murder weapon was not found. Valentina Giunta also had a 10-year-old son who currently lives with his paternal grandparents.

Investigators are trying to reconstruct the dynamics of the murder, starting with the reason why the 32-year-old, who was in the apartment to get the last things, opened the door and let her son in despite being afraid of it, and to ascertain any other responsibilities both in the crime and in the subsequent phases, when the boy tried to get away.

Instead, the motive would be clear: the 15-year-old would not have accepted his mother’s decision to leave the house and move away with his younger brother away from their neighborhood, San Cristoforo, and from the family of the ex-partner, who has been detained since 2018.

The eldest of the boys, very close to his paternal grandparents, would have developed resentment towards his mother who, in his view, would have ‘betrayed’ his father by choosing to cut ties with him and with his family.

According to the victim’s family members, Valentina was threatened and attacked several times by the family of her ex-partner and had been living in terror for a year. She twice she would have filed a complaint, but then she would have then withdrawn them.
