(ANSA) – TRIESTE, 30 JUL – At around 17.00 today, traffic substantially equalized the flow of last year, with an increasing trend. The forecast for the end of the day is therefore to reach almost 190 thousand transits. After the two years of restrictions due to the pandemic, holidaymakers, mainly from Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, on the A4 motorway, headed to the Lisert to the seaside resorts of Slovenia and Croatia. Added to these are the French, Spanish and Swiss license plates that crowded the barrier since last night. As usual in the first weekend of exodus, these are workers from Eastern Europe who return home. It is the balance sheet of Autovie Venete of the first day with a black sticker.
The Lisert totaled + 4% compared to the same Saturday in 2021. As usual, queues were created just before the tollbooth – with a peak of 5 kilometers at 16.00 – but it was not necessary to use the safety car to bypass the A34 Villesse – Gorizia. Motorists were advised by the variable message panels to use the most suitable route, exiting at Palmanova, Villesse, Redipuglia. The third lane section (Ponte sul Tagliamento – Palmanova node) – where 3,500 transits per hour were reached – facilitated the fluidity of traffic for those heading towards the sea or the mountains or the Lisert. Instead, from mid-morning onwards, the stop and go stops due to heavy traffic continue on the two-lane section between San Donà and the bridge over the Tagliamento River, with queues exiting at the San Donà, Cessalto, San Stino L.
